Getting around
Ras Al Khaimah effectively needs a car. There is no metro, the resorts sit well apart from the old town, and Jebel Jais is a long mountain drive from the coast with no public transport up it. A hire car from Dubai is the usual answer, and the road up Jais is well surfaced and straightforward despite the switchbacks.
