Da Nang International Airport sits unusually close to the centre, just 3km away, one of the shortest airport-to-city distances of any major international airport. A metered taxi to the centre runs roughly ₫80,000-200,000, and Grab or Be, booked from the ride-hailing zone signposted "Xe Công Nghệ" a short walk from arrivals, typically comes in around ₫70,000-120,000. To My Khe Beach specifically, the ride is even shorter, most hotels there are reachable in 10 to 15 minutes regardless of which option is chosen.
Day 1: My Khe Beach in the morning, Marble Mountains in the afternoon, evening at Dragon Bridge for the fire show if it falls on a weekend, followed by dinner at Helio Night Market nearby.
Day 2: Ba Na Hills, a genuine full-day outing given the 45 to 60 minute drive each way and 6 to 8 hours needed to see it properly, back to the city for a final evening meal.

Son Tra Peninsula
Further out, home to Da Nang's most upscale resorts and the Lady Buddha statue, genuinely quieter and greener, a proper Grab ride (20-25 minutes) from the centre. Suits a longer stay or a splurge-focused trip.

Getting around
Da Nang is a city built for drivers rather than walkers between districts, distances are longer than in Hanoi's Old Quarter or Ho Chi Minh City's District 1, and public transport is genuinely weak outside a few specific bus routes. Grab is the default for most trips and works reliably throughout the city, both car and motorbike-taxi options.
Bus No. 1 runs specifically to Hoi An, ₫30,000, every 20-30 minutes, a genuinely useful budget option for that one route. Renting a motorbike is common among longer-stay and more experienced travellers, given Da Nang's calmer traffic relative to Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, but the same Indian-licence and rental-scam cautions apply here as elsewhere in Vietnam.
